Over the past 17 years, State of Fluxโ€™s Global SRM Research has tracked how organisations manage their most important supplier relationships. The findings are consistent. Progress is being made, but very few organisations embed SRM in a way that lasts.

This yearโ€™s research, Making SRM Stick, focuses on a more difficult question. Not how to design SRM, but how to make it work consistently over time.

Across organisations, SRM often starts well. Frameworks are defined, governance is introduced, and initial momentum builds. Over time, consistency drops. Approaches diverge. The way suppliers are managed depends on who owns the relationship, not on a shared way of working.

At the Wellington SRM Summit 2026, we will explore what separates programmes that sustain from those that stall. Drawing on the latest research and real organisational examples, the discussion will focus on what it takes to embed SRM into day-to-day operations, maintain consistency across teams, and ensure supplier relationships continue to deliver value beyond the initial design.
